Disastrous Afternoon Tea at the Russian Tea Room

The Russian Tea Room is an iconic restaurant in New York City. It’s one of those restaurants that you just know by name. My friends (Moz and Loreal) and I finally decided to give RTR a try during the holiday season. When I think of High Tea, I think of endless delicate finger sandwiches with a pot of good tea. We made sure to eat breakfast early so that we would have empty stomachs for our meal. My friends and I also decided to dress up for the event seeing that it’s not every day that you go to the Russian Tea Room. We booked reservations for Afternoon Tea on…

    Strawberry Nutella Hand Pies

I’ve been dying to make some hand pies for a while after seeing so many on Pinterest. I finally got the opportunity last night when I realized I had excess pie crust. After dreaming of chicken pot pie for the last week, I caved and bought some frozen pre-made pie crust from Trader Joe’s. My pie pan ended up being smaller than 10 inches, so I had just a little extra dough – enough to make 2 small hand pies for dessert. Day 27 of Missing You

It’s been almost a week since I last wrote so now I feel like a total slacker. I thought that it would be a good idea to just catch up on the last few days because our last Skype session was full of Skype kisses and not much talking. (Speaking of which, it was so different Skyping during the day. I did not appreciate the multitude of interruptions… But I’ll take what I can get.) Wednesday I think we are pretty up to date with the majority of things that happened on Wednesday. Caitlin and I had a coffee date scheduled. We picked up our photos at the photo place…

    What Procrastination Tastes Like

Or … the list of restaurants I’d like to visit in the near future: Peanut Butter & Co – I love their white chocolate peanut butter and I’ve been wanting to check out their sandwich shop ever since I stumbled across it two years ago or so. Long time. Doughnut Plant – I’ve only been there once, and their doughnuts are to die for. Inconvenient that it’s in the Lower East Side. Totto Ramen – Talking about noodles and ramen made me crave some miso ramen. I went there over the summer and I couldn’t get over how good it was. Must. Go. Back. Alice’s Tea Cup – I need…

    A Non-Stop Party

With the exception of school on Friday morning, my weekend felt like it started on Thursday. Since I really should stop procrastinating and just get started on my homework, here’s a quick list on what I did this weekend: Took my aunt and cousin Andrew on a quick food tour of my favorite places to eat around Union Square: Artichoke and the milk bar. Visited Ground Zero on Thursday. It was already a media frenzy! 🙁 Went to Shake Shack at Madison Square Park with Andrew and Eric for the first time in over a year. So yummy! Partied it up at Fashion’s Night Out in SoHo with Tasha and…
